Barney's Barnyard

We are opening our zoo on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 29th.          

                Open Wed through Sun from 11 to 4 or by appt

Our love for all animals has inspired the idea of a petting zoo. We've had many requests from friends, neighbors and relatives to come to visit and play with the animals so after much thought, we've decided that Barney's Barnyard should be born!

We have decided to share our little animals with children and adults who may not have access to these wonderful pets! We will be offering a farm petting zoo/party experience and a mobile petting zoo/party.  Barney is our farm mascot, he is a darling little donkey that loves people and loves to be petted. He will be here at all times to greet the children and adults.

We feel this is a learning experience for children. Kids that learn to love and appreciate animals seem to have more compassion for all living things.

   This year we are adding different animals for more fun for the kids. We'll have bottle baby Baby Doll lamb. Also a bottle baby mini calf, Diego was only 18" tall at birth and 23 pounds, a real mini calf. Baby horses, baby donkeys, baby goats, etc. We have purchased a beautiful llama that is pregnant so we'll have a baby llama too. Wait until you see our guinea pigs, especially the hairless piggies, called Skinny Guinea's. We still have Porky pig with us but have a new baby pot belly piggy too named Ottie! Our Pea Cock has grown beautifully over winter and is ready to strut his stuff! We have fainting goats and this yr if ours don't faint for you, we'll have a video to watch to see how they faint. It's pretty unique. We are very anxious to open our petting zoo back up for the public to enjoy! A lot of fun is waiting for you and for us.

     We are easy to find. Highway 35 runs past Cochrane. County 0 crosses Hwy 35 (right by the Golf Course). Turn out into the country on County 0 and come 2 1/2 miles to the top of the bluff. Immediately on top of the bluff, Belvidere Ridge Road comes off from your left, turn left on it and we are right there, on the corner, about 100 ft and our driveway is on the left side of the road.
